I was recently asked to photograph of Nathan Burke from The Out_Circuit / Frodus. A couple shots are above. More coming soon.
Busy! Busy! Busy!
Posted by Jordan | Filed under Uncategorized
It’s been a while since I’ve updated! Busy times in my office chair. Just finished up the new Emery and mewithoutYou records (out yesterday!), began work on artwork for Sherwood and The Almost, some corporate fun stuff, and making little bits of headway on a new permanent portfolio web site for myself. Oh, as well as blog skin for rad photographers John Keatley and Greg Lutze (in the works). Vacation, all I ever wanted…
Bat For Lashes? Yes, please & thank you!

I’ve never been a fan of Bat For Lashes, I guess out of default.. Seattle hipsters love it, so I normally have a pre-conceived notion that it’ll suck, but I was so, so, so very wrong. Two Suns dropped today, and from the first 30 seconds I fell in love. This will most likely make an appearance in this years top 5 for me. I’m freaking out… So…. So GOOD.

Recent Work: MxPx & mewithoutYou
Posted by Jordan | Filed under Design

I’m stoked to have gotten to add Mxpx’s “On The Cover II” and mewithoutYou’s genius “It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All A Dream! It’s Alright” to my portfolio. Both bands were fun to work with, especially mewithoutYou. Aaron Weiss, mwY’s singer, art directed the package along with me, and it came out beautiful. Patterns and borders galore. I’m very excited for people to see it, and of course to hear the record. Mxpx was a fun time as well. A lot of Photoshop involved.. go grab a copy and see!
Next up: As Cities Burn, Emery, Jaymes Reunion

2009 is shaping up for me to be paying quite a few visits to the local cinema. Check out these superb offerings, including Where The Wild Things Are, which could be my favorite movie ever (fingers crossed).

This Will Destroy You

While checking out the trailer for the new Denzel Washington/John Travolta movie “The Taking of Pelham 123″ I was reminded of This Will Destroy You who have a song featured in the trailer (big congrats to them!). I’ve always been a huge fan, and I’ve been revisiting their self titled release today. Check them out on Myspace. The song below is “Freedom Blade” from their recent split EP with Lymbyc Systym (also a great band).

The Small Stakes

If you’re a poster lover, no doubt you’ve already been well aquatinted with Jason Munn and The Small Stakes, and since you probably already know who he is, you’d know that the top posters above are not normal fair for Jason. I’m stoked out of my mind to see him break away from his normal formula, and in all honesty, these are probably my two favorite Small Stakes posters to date. Hear hear!

The above is possibly my favorite Wine packaging of all time, put together by Israeli (I think?) design firm Nine99Design. Check out more of their beautiful packaging work here.
Home Is Where The Art Is

I was directed to The Contemporist earlier today via another daily read. It’s an architecture & design blog I’ve known about for quite a while, but rarely visited, and I’m glad I checked it out. I’m always intrigued with modern homes, and it’s great to see such a vast collection of exterior and interior photos, as well as links to so many amazing architects and designers, and great to see so many homes that are local for me have been featured. I’ve seen some of these gems around Seattle just from walking around and exploring the city, but you rarely get a good look form the street. This one is beautiful, as well as this one, and I swear I can hear angels singing when I looked closer at this one. All found in Seattle. The photos above are from a few different homes. Check out The Contemporist to dig deeper.
